Cincinnati Bell Launches Data Storage and Backup Service for ZoomTown Customers
Innovative Service Acts As an Online Safe Deposit Box
CINCINNATI and DAYTON - April 29, 2008 - If you've ever lost family photos, videos, music files or tax return information stored on your home computer, you know how upsetting and frustrating a computer or hard drive crash can be. While backup programs are commonplace at the office, many individuals don't have a dependable backup solution for their personal computers.
Cincinnati Bell Inc. (NYSE: CBB) is offering peace of mind with secure storage and backup services for its ZoomTown Internet subscribers. Customers are now able to back up and protect the files on their personal computer from devastating losses that can occur with computer crashes or unintentional deletions. All ZoomTown customers can take advantage of 3 gigabytes (GB) of storage at no charge. Additional storage is also available.
"As consumers put more and more on their personal lives on the computer in the form of family photos, videos and financial documents, it becomes imperative to protect these critical assets from accidental deletion, system crashes, theft or fire," said David McNaughton, senior vice president, consumer markets. "ZoomTown Storage and Backup provides our customers with their own virtual hard drive, where they can protect those files that are most important to them. Additionally, as long as the customer has an Internet connection they can access their files from any location."
ZoomTown Storage and Backup is available in four different sizes: 3GB, 10GB, 25GB and 75GB. The 3GB-storage tier is a standard free feature with a ZoomTown subscription. Additional tiers include automatic backup of files and range in price from $4.95 to $19.95 per month allowing flexibility in supporting various customer needs. A 10GB storage capacity, for example, will hold an average of 3,000 photo files; 150 hours of digital music; 10 hours of digital video; or thousands of document files. For gamers, the 10GB capacity will hold, on average, 10 full games.
Versatile Access
ZoomTown Storage and Backup is easy to use. Subscribers simply logon to the ZoomTown home page and select "ZoomTown Storage & Backup" to begin uploading files of their choice. Once files are uploaded to the ZoomTown storage server, subscribers will be able to logon to the ZoomTown home page from any computer and access their files.
