Cincinnati Bell Names Sparkman as Vice President/General Manager of Dayton Operations
DAYTON, OH - February 26, 2009 - Cincinnati Bell Inc. (NYSE: CBB) today announced that Gerald Sparkman has been named vice president/general manager of the company's extended area operations. Sparkman is responsible for residential and business customer sales and marketing in the Dayton, Mason, Oxford, and Lebanon areas.
Sparkman joined Cincinnati Bell in 2001 and most recently served as vice president of organizational effectiveness where he was responsible for improving employee, customer and shareholder value through the leadership of Six Sigma and business transformation strategic initiatives and execution. Previously he was the senior vice president of operations and business process re-engineering at Cincinnati-based Provident Bank and also served as the vice president and general manager of operations at American Express Travel Related Services Inc. with responsibility for the U.S. Payment Services division and business re-engineering.

Just recently, Cincinnati Bell expanded its customer service reach in the region by opening a full-service retail store at The Greene Town Center located behind The Pub at 19 Greene Blvd. in Beavercreek.
Cincinnati Bell at The Greene is the company's eighth retail store in the Greater Dayton market. Retail operations also include 10 exclusive distributors in and around the Dayton area. The company has 125 local employees including consumer and business sales representatives.
Sparkman is a graduate of Anna Marie College in Paxton, Massachusetts, with a bachelor's degree in business administration and management and is currently enrolled in the University of Notre Dame's Executive MBA program. He is on the board of directors of BRIDGES for A Just Community and previously served on the boards of the Dan Beard Boy Scouts, 4C, and Minorities in Math, Science and Engineering. He also is a former member of the Advisory Board of the University of Cincinnati's Advance Mentoring Program. Sparkman is certified as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
